New Horizons

Hi Folks - well its been awhile since my last post, and although it was a very quiet summer on the Nottingham Sub, it was a very busy summer from a model railroading perspective. Some other local modelers and myself have built 13 On30 modules (I am co-owner of three) over the summer and have just shown them off at a local fall model railroading show. The group is called the Narragansett Bay Railway and Navigation Company (Nova Scotia Division). Our parent group is located in the Rhode Island area and over the last couple of years attended some of our local shows. We established contact with a couple of members of the group and received their blessing to establish the Nova Scotia division. I must say that it is my first foray into On30 modeling, and I am really liking this scale. I myself have purchased a couple of pieces of motive power (-my favorite is a Bachmann Soundtraxx equipped Climax) and several freight cars as well. Several others of our group have acquired motive power and rolling stock. Another member of the group weathered some of my pieces and the results were fantastic!! Thanks Dave. I also built two small structures for my modules. We are definitely pleased with our results and although the modules are not totally complete, we received many positive comments at our first public showing.I am thinking that a total change in scale may be in the works some day down the road...those O scale details sure are easier on the eyes. No worries for now though - work will continue on the Sub for the time being.... This posts picture is of my climax (with several pieces of my rolling stock) crossing over the bridge on one of my modules. Till next time...
